Heroes & Horses

JoyRide serves veterans through equine-assisted activities, and volunteer opportunities. 

Working with horses provides opportunities to teach critical life skills such as:

• Reduced Anxiety

• Confidence

• Improved Self-Awareness

• Communication

Horses use non-verbal communication which causes them to be in-tune with human behavior, helping clients better understand how non-verbal communication can impact their lives and influence others. Through interactions with the horses, people learn to be aware of their surroundings and an increase of self-awareness. Clients gain insight into their internal landscape and modes of operation Clients gain self-confidence in working with such a large and powerful animal. Horses offer us the opportunity to experience certain elements to supporting self-growth and self-awareness.
