Dear Robin ,
Lots of exciting
things have happened since our last communication!
« JoyRide is now
officially JoyRide Center, Inc., a new non-profit corporation in the
state of Texas. Thank you to Dean Hasseman for his help filing
all the legal paperwork.
« We
have voted in the board of directors and named team leaders.
(See below.)
« Insurance is in
place, thanks to Randy Shoff, Karen Abbott and Roger Wagner.
« Clients,
volunteers and horses who will be participating in the pilot
program came out last week for a "Meet and Greet". What
a joy to have them there! We can't wait to start riding this
week!
« Planning is
underway for construction of a connecting cover from the arena to the
building, office space, mulit-purpose space and restrooms! Donations
of metal roofing, concrete, plumbing, electrical and AC have been
promised. Thank you to Bill McDonald and Jake Leissner for making
all this happen!
« Our website,www.joyridecenter.org
is under construction, thanks to Robin Maxwell. We'll let you
know when it is up and running.
We continue to be amazed at the outpouring of support
from so many. Thank you all. JoyRide is truly blessed!

Jumpstart The Joy Open
House/Fundraiser
Bring your family and friends for food, games, a moonwalk,
and lots of joy! There will be a demo of therapeutic riding at
3:00 pm. Don't forget to pre-order your whole BBQ briskets ($50)
and chickens ($20) by Thursday, 10/29. Email your order to Jackie
at jmcdonald@joyridecenter.org.
Pay and pick up on Nov. 1.
Some have
expressed an interest in setting up a booth to sell their own items
with a portion of their proceeds going to JoyRide. We would be
overjoyed! Bring your own table and supplies. Contact pwagner@joyridecenter.org
to reserve your space.

JoyRide Needs
Many of you have been asking "What do you
need?". As a brand new program, we need just about
everything!
- Horses: We hope to be ready to accept horses
in a few months and are screening potential therapy
horses now. Contact Karen at kabbott@joyridecenter.org .
- Building supplies and services: Our facility needs indoor space and
restrooms. Donations of welding services, sheet rock, septic
system, plumbing fixtures, arena irrigation system and more
would be greatly appreciated! Contact Bill McDonald at bill@dandlelectric.com .
- Tack and equine supplies: Contact Karen Abbott at kabbott@joyridecenter.org for a wish list.
- Office equipment and supplies: As soon as we actually have an office,
we'll be needing all the usual things: copy machine,
computers, printers, phones, and expertise in setting it all
